Fishing at Blackbird

The lake is periodically restocked with fish, so bring your rod and see what you can catch. After all, nothing’s quite as satisfying as catching and cooking your own supper!

Fishing is positively encouraged for experienced anglers, but you must have your own Government Fishing Rod Licence, which you can apply for here, as well as a permit from us to fish in our lake. Please email us to request a permit.

The weed is regularly removed from our end of The Lake, but does regrow each year. Please also be aware that due to the treeline, fly fishing is not your best option. For more details on the type of rods, floats and bait that guests have successfully used in the past, drop us a line.

Please note: You must double-bag any fish guts before putting it out in the rubbish. We do not provide or hire fishing equipment.
